This highly original 1965 Milano Maroon Corvette coupe has been owned by the same person for the past 45 years, but now it’s up for sale on eBay.
Interest has been strong, with 40 bids climbing to $45,600 as the auction is slated to come to a close Friday afternoon.
If you’re into originality, then this might be the Sting Ray for you as it’s a daily driver survivor.
Many of the key parts are the same ones that left the St. Louis factory back in the day, including the 327/350 horsepower V8 engine (that’s undergone at least one rebuild) and four-speed manual transmission, along with the maroon carpet and seat covers. (This reminds us of the Dipped interiors available on the current C8.) Even the paint is original, showing some minor cracking and hazing, but the owner says it’s “still presentable for such an original car.”
Over the past 45 years, the owner has apparently maintained the car with tender, loving care as he offered up a detailed list of the work done. For example, he’s installed many new parts, including rear trailing arms, a NOS fuel tank and sending unit, tail lamps, forward harness, NOS GM bumpers front and rear, brake lines, exhaust with stainless tips, and four tires. In addition he’s rebuilt the upper and lower control arms, steering box, headlight motors, and front spindles.
With just 78,000 miles on the odometer, this original classic has plenty of miles left on the open road. Will that be you that we spot behind the wheel?
