We’ve all seen some auctions and classified ads that may feature a photo or two of a pretty girl with a Corvette, and for the most part if the pictures are tastefully done, it can serve as a great attention-getter.
This eBay auction listing for a 1977 Corvette seems to start okay. The teaser pic shows an attractive bikini-clad woman leaning against the red Vette, but when you click on it and then see all the pictures, you’ll think you are in the twilight zone.
After all, nothing helps sells a Corvette like girls, a ventriloquist with his ‘dummies’, and of course, Santa Claus.
Welcome to Operation Air Flow where we’ll take a bone stock 2009 Corvette and bolt on some extra horsepower via a Carbon Fiber air intake and Sport exhaust system from CORSA Performance. After each item is installed we’ll hit the dyno for some real horsepower and torque numbers. The end goal is to show you some easy ways to unlock some extra ponies from your ride.
With all the modes of transportation that a Corvette engine has been put in over the years, it’s hard to believe that no one has thought of putting one in a jet ski.
But that’s what yacht designer Kurt Strand is working on right now.
Bearing the somewhat naughty name of the Wet Rod, the jet ski will reportedly have a Corvette 5.7-liter V8 motor capable of 300 horsepower and propelling the personal water craft to speeds of 65 mph.
Check out the view from a C6 Corvette as it runs behind the Corvette Pace Car during the PIT Rally on Colorado’s Central City Parkway. The course is 7 miles, 4 lanes wide, 23 turns and a 2,500 ft hill climb through the Rocky Mountains.
Chasing a GO4IT Racing Corvette (pace car) in my street C6 Corvette on Central City Parkway in Colorado during PIT Rally 2014. Hit a top speed of 140 MPH, averaging 104 MPH over 6.9 miles and 1500 ft of overall elevation climb. I was admittedly a little hesitant around some of those blind turns!

Once a year in Idaho, the Sun Valley Road Rally transforms Highway 75 north of Ketchum into a “No Speed Limit” zone where drivers can run as fast as they want past throngs of spectators cheering them on. The event, now in its 5th year, raises money for the Blaine County Community Drug Coalition.
One of the videos we caught of the event featured a C5 Corvette that hit a top speed of 166 mph on the two lane road.
But that’s not all. Driving the yellow Corvette, according to the PA announcer, was an 81 year old grandmother.
We told you a few weeks ago about a commercial promoting the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation raffle of his personal 2014 Laguna Blue Corvette Stingray convertible.
Now we’ve found out that former Chevrolet general manager Jim Perkins (1989-97) was on the set when the commercial was being filmed.
It’s a great chance to hear a conversation between two of the Corvette’s biggest supporters.
Over the last six decades, Chevrolet has produced seven different iterations of the Corvette. Some of the designs have been called revolutionary like the C2 years while others have more or less evolved from the previous generation like C5 to C6.
eBay Motors found a cool way to illustrate the design changes the Corvette has undergone over the last 60 years by showing an animation that morphs from the C1′s 1953 Corvette all the way through to the C7 2014 Corvette Stingray.
