If you’re interested in seeing this 1966 Corvette coupe, unless you live in Alaska, you better be prepared to cover a little ground getting to witness it in person. But with all the breathtaking scenic beauty awaiting you in our 49th state, that doesn’t sound like a bad thing at all to us.
Couldn’t you just imagine what it must be like to drive this classic Corvette on the roads of one of our most picturesque states?
The photos for this Craigslist offering in Anchorage reveal what the seller admits is a “driver quality not show quality” C2, with “some chips in the paint,” but we like what we see, at least from a distance.
For $49,000, you can get into the classic Sting Ray scene. With a little negotiating, this could be a reasonably priced way to have a 51-year-old ‘Vette that still turns heads.
But the seller says you might want to hurry since the muscle car season, understandably enough, doesn’t last very long in Alaska!
He says the car was originally a big block but now has a non-original 427 with aftermarket Merlin heads and boasts a four-speed transmission. The side pipes and correct big block hood look great, and best of all, the seller notes that his car “runs and drives GREAT.”
He’s posting the ad to see “if there is any interest down there” and admits “I highly recommend you inspect the car in person to make sure it is what you want.”
Do we see a road trip in someone’s future?
