Corvette Auction Preview: 2016 Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach

Barrett-Jackson is in South Florida this weekend for their annual auction in Palm Beach. A Barrett-Jackson auction is much more than just a car sale, it’s a three day automotive lifestyle event and the Palm Beach location is one of our favorite dates of the year.

Our friend Marshall Fancher at Vette-N-Vestments has pulled together the consignment list which shows 44 Corvettes will be offered throughout the weekend. As CorvetteBlogger will be on the auction grounds on Friday and Saturday, we are looking forward to seeing how these Corvettes for sale will do:

Lot #3003 – 2017 Corvette Grand Sport VIN 001

We profiled the main attraction for Corvette enthusiasts yesterday as we learned that the first retail 2017 Corvette Grand Sport with the Commemorative Edition package will be offered for sale with the proceeds to benefit the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in midtown Detroit. We also suggested that if the buyer is anybody other that Rick Hendrick, that will be the story of the day.

Lot #394 – 1962 Corvette Restomod

Restomod Corvettes always do well at Barrett-Jackson auctions and we think this custom 1962 Corvette will be among the top sellers this weekend. The Corvette features an Chevrolet LS2 V8 with a Magnuson supercharger which produces over 600 horsepower. Inside, the interior comes complete with a Classic Instruments gauge cluster, gear shift and a custom stereo.

Lot #375 – 1967 Corvette Convertible w/ 427/400

This 1967 Corvette is a matching numbers original with the rare and original color combo of Ermine White with Red Leather interior. Documented with the original Protect-o-Plate, Bloomington Gold certificate and multiple regional NCRS Top Flights. 427/400 hp with 4-speed manual transmission. Comes with five Kelsey Hayes bolt-on wheels.

Lot #510 – 2007 Ron Fellows Corvette Z06

For collectors or buyers looking for a later model collectible, we recommend one of the various special editions that Chevrolet issued during the C6 run. One of our favorites came in 2007 with the Ron Fellows Corvette Z06. Personally signed by Corvette Racing’s Ron Fellows and limited to just 399 examples, its low number of builds already assures it as a future collectible. This Ron Fellows edition is #382 of #399 built and has only 2,350 actual miles.

In addition to those four Corvettes, we like these cars as well

The 2016 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Palm Beach will run three days beginning on Friday, April 8th and running through Sunday, April 10th at the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach. Velocity Network will begin live coverage of the auction at 12 Noon on Friday and will continue throughout the weekend. You can see the broadcast schedule on www.Barrett-Jackson.com.
