Truth be told, I have yet to listen to the whole 1 hour and 38 minutes of the podcast and am saving it for my Saturday morning drive from Tampa to Daytona as I head to the Roar Before the 24.

Sorry, But We’re Not Buying that ‘Surprise C8 Reveal at NAIAS’ Rumor Going Around
On Thursday morning, Corvette Forum member “Zerv02” started a thread called “C8 will be at NAIAS 2019” and said that both the Coupe and Spider models will be part of a surprise unveiling on January 14th. When asked about his credibility being on the line, he replied: “My source never lets me down”.

My copy of Corvette Special Editions arrived here at the Detroit Bureau last week just a couple days before the latest round of C8 spy shots hit the interwebs. With what appears to be a new generation of Corvette arriving sooner rather than later, I got to thinking about what we’d remember most about the C7. Aside from the insane ZR1 it’ll probably be one of the many special editions offered since 2014.

This weekend is the Roar Before the 24 where IMSA teams descend on Daytona International Speedway to begin testing for the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona and the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech Championship Series.
Corvette Racing brought their C7.Rs to the track this weekend and as always we like to see if there are any changes to the racing livery for the year.

DETROIT (Jan. 2, 2019) – A new season for Corvette Racing will bring a familiar look and feel to race fans across North America in 2019 as the program confirmed its lineup today for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. It’s a roster that remains intact for the fourth consecutive year.
GM Reports 3,910 Corvettes Were Sold During Fourth Quarter 2018
GM released their sales totals this morning for Fourth Quarter 2018. During the months of October, November, and December, the automaker reported a total of 3,910 Corvettes sold. This is a -36.8% decline from the number Corvettes sold during the 4th quarter of 2018. It also represents a decline of -15.7% from the 3rd Quarter ’18 sales of 4,639.
For the 2018 Calendar Year, GM sold 18,791 Corvettes in the USA, a decline of -25.1% over the 25,079 delivered during 2017.
Registration for the Corvette Museum’s Michelin NCM Bash is Now Open
Now that the new year is here, the National Corvette Museum has opened the registration for the annual Michelin NCM Bash that will be held April 25-27, 2019 in Bowling Green, KY.
