In August of 2017 we told you the story of Van Bortel Chevrolet’s unrestored 1967 Corvette convertible. The Ermine White roadster was purchased new by Anthony C. Capozzi Jr. After a stint in the army, Anthony returned home and immersed himself in his family’s businesses. One of those ventures was known as Nino’s Antiques.

We went back and forth on whether the ’53 should be #1 or just off the podium for the fabulous 50s countdown. When the dust settled, we decided that our list was about “best,” not “most significant” and the ‘Vette’s genesis wasn’t without its flaws.

Here’s another good post-season video from our friends at Mobil 1 the Grid that explores the internal competition on Corvette Racing’s squad between the two crew chiefs, Dan Binks and Brian Hoye. The two have worked and competed together for 30 years and while it seems like the competitive spirit is alive and well between the two, both say that all that matters in the end is Corvette Racing getting the win.

During the segment, we hear from Jan Magnussen and Oliver Gavin on how important each of their crew chiefs has been to them. We also know that Chevrolet will let the teams race each other as long as they are able to keep it clean. Ollie reminds of the 1-2 finish of the Corvette C7.Rs at Daytona in 2016.
