[PIC] C8 Corvette Rendered Low and Wide by Instagram Designer

If you like your Corvettes “low and wide”, this rendering from @MonacoAutoDesign via Instagram should be right up your alley!

Brian Monaco is the designer behind this render and he explains that it was actually purposed first on the C7 Corvette and then decided to move it over to the C8 platform.

We especially like the aggressive look of the redesigned front fascia which is opened up to receive more airflow than the stock C8s. The front corners of the widebody are tapered which reveals the Corvette’s front tires and to us, that harkens a retro feeling especially with the vents on top of the frunk and the low splitter that’s just centimeters off the tarmac.

We ran through the @monacoautodesign timeline and while we saw other examples of the mid-engine Corvette, we do not see a continuation of this project where we could see the side or rear. As we are really liking what Brian has come up with so far so hopefully we get to see more of this low and wide Corvette.

The world turned upside down for the owner of this C7 Corvette last week, literally.

The car, apparently a 2019 Grand Sport, wound up on its top after an accident on April 16 in the town of Kamloops in British Columbia, Canada.

English aficionados may have spotted an irregularity (or several, who knows?) in Quick Shifts this weekend, specifically on third gear which was dubbed “isolation interviews” but only contained a single digital sit-down between the fine folks at SportsCar365.com and Corvette Racing Driver, Tommy Milner.

The column originally featured a second link to the Hagerty Media site but we decided that their video guest deserved a standalone shout out on your favorite Corvette blog.

Corvette Delivery Dispatch with National Corvette Seller Mike Furman for April 19th

Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.

This week’s delivery report from Mike is a fun one for us to post as he puts the delivery spotlight on two new Corvettes that have connections to us here at CorvetteBlogger!. We see a Black C8 Z51 Coupe that finally made it to Oregon that was a courtesy delivery for our friend John Elegant who is a co-founder of the MidEngineCorvetteForum.com, while the now semi-famous Sebring Orange C8 known as “Crushin” that belongs to CB contributor Jeremy Welborn. In addition to a few more C8s, Mike shares one of the remaining 2019s as it was headed out the door. We also suggest sticking around for this week’s collection of barn-finds, vintage throwbacks, and other Corvette pics for you scrolling pleasure.

Visit Mike’s facebook page for even more photos and videos of his new Corvette deliveries: CorvetteFurman.

The Best 'Vettes to Buy to Stimulate the Economy

Last week we looked into how much (or how little) Corvette someone could get with their impending economic stimulus money. While there was at least one surprisingly decent option available under four grand, we concluded that these dollars would make much more cents (get it?) as down payments on an example of America’s Sports Car that you really want.

Every once in a while, I go through the stage of wanting another C4 Corvette. Having owned an ’86, an ’88, and an ’89, I realize firsthand these fourth generation ‘Vettes aren’t the most powerful ever built or the most reliable (remember the newfangled key on the ’86 that was supposed to prevent thefts but wound up leaving some owners stranded because the key wouldn’t work?).

A lot of the excitement at Barrett-Jackson auctions over the past 15-plus years has rolled across the block thanks to a strong partnership with General Motors.

The two powerhouses in their respective industries have teamed up to sell GM vehicles to raise more than $24 million for charity, including the most recent sale of the first mid-engine 2020 Corvette that sold in January for a whopping $3 million to enthusiast/collector/dealer/racing magnate Rick Hendrick.
