Bloomington Gold’s Indianapolis event returns this week to its usual June timeslot after a pandemic-modified show in 2020. The Granddaddy of Corvettes shows is returning to the Lucas Oil Stadium this Friday, June 18th and Saturday, June 19th from 8am-5pm each day. With a full year to plan with the new location, the show looks to be slowly returning to normal, just like the rest of the country.

Following up on our original story of the five right hand drive C8 Corvettes shown in Japan during a private review party held on May 29th at Fuji Speedway, we’ve come across a video from a Japanese automotive reviewer named Kazuo Shimizu who attended the event and got to drive the car on the track.
With the arrival of the mid-engine C8 Corvette, Chevrolet has been able to accomplish what some may have thought was unobtainable in the past – a new kind of Corvette owner that’s younger, wealthier, and more diverse than the buyers of previous generations.

The last video with Emelia Hartford had her breaking her own world record times in the C8 Corvette not once but twice during a two-day private test at Famoso Raceway outside of Bakersfield, California. With the previous record standing at 9.41 seconds and despite the fact that the temps were over 100 degrees, Emelia was able to beat her record with quarter-mile runs of 9.36 and a 9.39.
It’s now Day Two of that test and Emelia and her team are up early to take advantage of the cooler morning temps. Unfortunately, Phoenix was having some issues…
Corvette Racing will soon complete the construction of a new Corvette C8.R racer that will be used first at the IMSA race at Road America in early August before being flown to France where it will serve as the team’s backup car for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Sometimes just staying even with the status quo can be a real accomplishment.
That might be the best way to look at the recent announcement by Chevrolet that the 2022 Corvette Stingray would undergo changes to the 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine’s fuel delivery and active fuel management systems as well as slight alterations to the engine calibration.
The Chevrolet Corvette’s streak as being the fastest-selling new car for four straight months was broken in May with America’s Favorite Sports Car coming in at a close second to the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The Corvette averaged 9.5 days to sell, up .3 from April while the Mercedes-Benz G-class makes its debut on the list at number 1 with 9.4 days on average to sell.
