A stolen Torch Red C7 Corvette Z06 has been recovered – no worse for the wear – and two men have been arrested with a third still being sought as a result of a multi-state investigation this month, authorities said.
Legendary Corvette restomod builder Jeff Hayes keeps breaking records with his creations and his latest build featuring a 1967 Corvette Convertible had people buzzing after it hammered sold at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale on Saturday for $1 million, a new record price for a custom ’67 Corvette! When it was all said-and-done with the auction house commission added, the out-the-door price would be an amazing $1.1 million.

One of the interesting aspects of owning a mass-produced sports car is that we sometimes don’t quite know where we fit in when it comes to the world of supercars. Some of our high performance Corvettes like the C7 ZR1 and the C8 Z06 can seriously punch above their weight, but because they are sold for hundreds of thousands less than similar competitors, it’s easy to exclude them from being a “true” supercar.
This 1965 Corvette coupe sure has come a long way since it was built at the St. Louis factory nearly 60 years ago.
For the past decade, it’s undergone an intensive restomod restoration, with modern Corvette-themed updates, and is now being offered on Bring a Trailer, where the high bid has climbed to $45,000 with five days to go in the auction.
