Statesville, NC (April 29, 2024) — After months of preparation and planning, DXDT Racing will debut the new Corvette Z06 GT3.R when drivers Scott Smithson and Bryan Sellers compete in this weekend’s Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS event at Sebring International Raceway.

Check out this latest sighting of the C8 Corvette ZR1 prototypes as they were spied testing in Knoxville, Tennessee by a Corvette enthusiast. Scott Fisher caught up with the Corvette Engineering team as they had the engines at idle earlier on Tuesday and posted the video and few photos to the C8 Owners (and Friends) group on Facebook.

General Motors recently announced it would be installing new transmissions in certain 2023 and 2024 Corvettes because of improperly torqued transmission fasteners, but that hasn’t stopped other customers from attacking the company with another lawsuit concerning older eight-speed automatic transmissions in several GM vehicles.

During the Michelin NCM Bash, the Corvette Team highlighted the fact that previous constraints with its popular carbon fiber options have since been lifted. Customers are now free to order the carbon fiber ground effects, carbon aero package, and the engine appearance packages for both the coupe and convertible without too much trouble these days. But that doesn’t mean the same for other carbon fiber accessories.

This 1978 L82 Corvette Indy Pace Car last hit the road for a homecoming dance in August of 1986 when the owner let a relative borrow it.

He had bought the car used with 100 miles on the odometer, but after the dance, he parked it and it’s been there ever since, now with just 293 miles!

Normally when we talk about Corvettes delivered with incorrect parts like the we saw previously with a two-tone boomerang or a Stingray badge on the rear deck of a Z06, we can usually chalk that up to being a simple one-time mistake. Sometimes we even suggest that a factory error is fun to leave on the car, as long as it doesn’t take away from the owner’s appreciation of his or her’s fine new ride.
