July 2009 Corvette Sales

Corvette sales took a bit of dip last month as GM reported 966 deliveries in the month of July. The 966 units is the lowest since January’s 842 deliveries and was 30% lower than the 1,396 Corvettes sold in June 2009. However, based on July sales of Corvettes in 2007 and 2008, the decline is most probably due to smaller dealer inventories and consumer anticipation for the 2010 model which the factory started building last week.

And speaking of smaller dealer inventories, there are a total of 4,332 Corvettes available nationwide including just 276 2008 models. This is down from the 4,911 we reported in the June 2009 Corvette Sales Report. For the third month in a row, the number of Corvette ZR1s available has increased with 91 currently available for sale.

With the factory beginning to assemble the 2010 Corvettes including the new Grand Sport models, we should hopefully see jump in sales as the orders are processed.
