[VIDEO] Michigan Police in Hot Pursuit of a C8 Corvette Stingray

Michigan State Police found themselves chasing one of the toughest opponents on the road Wednesday night — a C8 Corvette Stingray that simply didn’t want to stop.

A video posted by Metro Detroit News shows the mid-engine Corvette darting through Detroit streets with multiple MSP units in pursuit. And one thing becomes clear almost immediately: the Corvette’s low stance and razor-sharp handling made life difficult for the patrol cars behind it. Several cruisers struggled for traction as they dove into turns, tires chirping while the Corvette stayed planted and smooth.

According to MSP in a post on Facebook, the driver fled multiple times, prompting Trooper 2 — along with a growing convoy of units — to stay on the chase. The video makes it nearly impossible to count how many cruisers joined in; the flashing lights seem to multiply with every block.

The pursuit finally ended near Livernois and Joy Road, where both occupants – a man and a woman – bailed out and ran. They didn’t get far. Troopers quickly tracked them down and placed them under arrest.

Not everything went smoothly for law enforcement. During the chase, one MSP unit lost control and slid off the roadway, damaging the patrol car. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

In the end, the C8’s performance didn’t matter. The troopers stayed persistent, coordinated, and patient — and that’s what brought the chase to a close.
