I’ve been looking for a sweet palate cleanser to finish off this short work week, and a race between a C7 Corvette Z06 versus a Dodge SRT Demon is just like spooning into a cool dish of orange sherbet after chowing down a great steak.

Now that I got the foodies attention, let’s take a closer a look at these two contenders.

Dressed in Purple and wearing the unique Demon graphics on the rear of the car, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon boasts a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with 840 horsepower and 770 lb-ft of torque. The performance specs of this production drag-racer are pretty insane with the car rocketing 0-60 mph in just 2.3 seconds and its capable of a 9.65-second quarter mile time.

In the near lane is America’s Favorite Sports Car – the C7 Corvette Z06. It also has a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 rated at 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque and it’s capable of running a standing quarter mile in just 11 seconds.

These two road rockets recently met up at the River Valley Drag Strip in Mission Raceway Park in Canada, and this battle was captured by the good people at the Wheels YouTube channel.

There is one thing I’ve learned about watching cars drag race and that’s to root for the guy who is wearing drag radials. He didn’t show up to simply make a few runs…he is there to beat all takers as the driver in the Dodge is about to find out.
