It’s been a week of new world records for Corvette enthusiasts.
First, we saw Will Farmer take a stock 2026 Corvette ZR1 to 9.1 seconds in the quarter mile. Now, we have what could be the world’s fastest Corvette in the Standing Mile.
Kelly Bise is no stranger to Standing Mile events. We featured him previously in October 2024 when his 2009 Corvette Z06 set an LS Standing Mile record at 264 MPH.
Now he’s gone even faster!

On May 2nd, Kelly crushed is own personal best after laying down a blistering 280.025 MPH pass during the ECTA Motorsports Arkansas Mile event held at the Arkansas Aeroplex in Blytheville, AR. His time also set the official track record.
A funny moment came at the end when his crew was trying to call him to tell him his time. Kelly was moving so fast during the mile run that his phone left the holder and ended up behind his driver seat. He would spend a couple of minutes after the pass looking for it!

The video offers plenty of views from the standing mile run, and at the end we get the final confirmation with the time slip showing just how fast his run was. By the half mile he had reached 227 MPH and at 3/4 of a mile his speed was 260.417 MPH. Congratulations to him and his team!
Wouldn’t you love to see the is car run at Kennedy Space Center 3-mile-long space shuttle runway?
