We recently told you about the National Council of Corvette Clubs’ (NCCC) new Future Corvette Owners Association (FCOA) program for the littlest Corvette fans. They’re also targeting the next age group with their new Young Guns Competition Program. This driving competition is for owners and drivers 16-26 years old and gives them the opportunity to compete solely against their peers. It’s a terrific way to get your feet wet in the hobby and build friendships that’ll last a lifetime.
The Young Guns program picks up where the FCOA leaves off. It’s the next step in younger members’ NCCC competition journey. The program is for drivers between 16-26 years old and encourages them to take part in activities by providing classes exclusively for their age group. This promotes inclusion as they’ve got their own program in which to gain valuable experience that can be used later.
Participants compete in 28 events, starting with a pre-qualifying event. The remaining events consist of low-speed trials, high speed events, time trials, and drag races. Finally, they’ll head to the NCCC Convention to compete for their own National title in their respective categories. Like the FCOA, attendance (not points) is being tracked to qualify in this program.
The Young Guns program is broken up into 6 total classes grouped by Corvette generation with separate divisions for both men and women. The classes look like this:
• C1 through C4 (men + women)
• C5 and C6 (men + women)
• C7 and C8 (men + women)
The full rundown of the Young Guns Competition Program is posted on the NCCC Website.
The NCCC is seeking sponsorship partners for this new program as well. The title sponsorship for the Young Guns Program is $2,100 which will cover the program awards at the national convention. They are also seeking contingency award sponsors for category winners or the top 3 overall winners at the national convention shootout. Individual category awards sponsorship is just $350, and those sponsors can choose one or more categories to support.
