[ACCIDENT] Out-of-Control C7 Corvette Nearly Causes a Pileup on the Interstate


A dash cam video making the rounds online shows a heart stopping moment on the highway when a C7 Corvette nearly slammed into a heavy truck after the driver lost control at high speed.

The clip begins with the truck cruising steadily in the right lane while a Chevy Silverado travels to its left. Out of nowhere, a silver C7 Corvette blasts into view, moving far faster than the surrounding traffic. The Corvette driver tries to dart around the slower Silverado, but the maneuver backfires—the rear end snaps loose, and the sports car immediately fishtails.

The Corvette swings hard toward the shoulder, kicking up a cloud of dirt as the driver fights to regain control. In the process, the car clips a roadside sign before sliding back toward the highway—this time directly into the path of the oncoming truck.

The truck driver lays on the horn, unleashing a string of profanities, and attempts to slow down, but with a fully loaded rig, there’s only so much room to react. At the last possible moment, the driver steers left, squeezing the truck onto the adjacent shoulder and avoiding the Corvette by what looks like inches.

Once the truck comes to a stop, the Corvette straightens out and speeds away as if nothing happened.

It’s a miracle the two vehicles didn’t collide—especially considering reports that the truck was hauling flammable liquids. A crash under those circumstances could have ended far worse. The video makes one thing clear: the truck driver’s quick thinking likely prevented a major disaster and serves as another warning that speed is best handled on a track, not an interstate.
