~A True One of One! Dark Satin Steel metallic paint color. Only on this car for the auction. We all would like to commend Chevrolet for creating such an epic vehicle all in one package. This stunning 2026 ZR1X is on display for all to see at the Barrett Jackson auction in Scottsdale.
~1/24/26~ In my 48 years and 6,837 Corvette deliveries…so far…I have come across an incredible cross section of Corvette enthusiasts far and wide. This past March I delivered a repeat customer that happened to have won The Rolex 24 hrs of Daytona race in 2006. He is one of two of my customers that has won that race, the other customer was for team Corvette and Michael won it in 2006 in a Porsche. Michael owns TPC Racing in Jessup, MD and he has been known as the premier suspension tuner, one of the best in the world. He has bought from me a 2019 ZR1, 2020 Z51, 2023 Z06 and now a 2025 Eray which he states is an incredible GT Touring Sports car. Michael called me yesterday from Daytona and I asked him if he was wearing his award winning Rolex which prompted him to send me the pictures.
~I’m looking forward to seeing this beauty at the National Corvette Museum…Great story.
~Couple Donates Beloved 1970 Corvette to the National Corvette Museum~
“T. Wayne Lankford’s lifelong love for Corvettes began in 1968, when he was a college student in Pennsylvania and accepted a ride in a 1969 Monaco Orange Corvette driven by Chip Miller, a future Corvette Hall of Fame inductee. That moment left a lasting impression.
Although Wayne couldn’t afford a Corvette at the time, his opportunity came in May 1972. At a dealership in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, he discovered a mint-condition 1970 Donnybrook Green Corvette, formerly a salesman’s demo car with just 4,000 miles. With Chip Miller’s approval after a test drive, Wayne bought the car for $4,895. It became his first Corvette and remained with him for nearly five decades.
After marrying Pattie in 1975, the couple enjoyed showing the Corvette with the Corvette Club of Delaware Valley. As life grew busier, and following a serious accident in 2006 that limited Wayne’s ability to drive, the car sat unused. Faced with the choice to restore or sell it, Wayne chose restoration.
Over 11 months, Wayne, Pattie, and close friend Mark Snyder carefully brought the Corvette back to life, preserving its originality. Pattie played an active role in the process, cleaning and polishing parts, even bending her own rules by allowing car parts into the kitchen to escape the summer heat.
With no family members likely to cherish the car as deeply as they had, Wayne and Pattie decided to donate the Corvette to the National Corvette Museum. Though the 1970 Corvette will no longer sit in their garage, the couple remains active in the Corvette community and continues to enjoy other Corvettes they own.
They now look forward to visiting the Museum to see their beloved 1970 Corvette preserved, appreciated, and shared with future generations exactly as they hoped.”

Did King Richard buy a Corvette? 😁
“28.9” a gallon at the Gulf station……….I remember those days !!!!
Fond memories at John Mackie’s dads Gulf station in Neptune, NJ, a LONG time ago !!!
At that time I made $1 an hour at a Phillips 66 and did all windows, offered to check oil and tires, vacuum the floor, while also looking at the dated oil change sticker, wiper blades, tire wear, and soliciting a wash or a wax – at 28.9 cents/gallon…unless there was a “war” with Gulf, Sinclair and Esso on the other corners. 🤣
Great pics this week. My fave is the pic of what looks like a Baldwin Motion Maco Shark and Phase III Corvette.
I like the ELKHART LAKE photo with the 3 ’62’s with the nearest being a Fuelie car & the 2 pictures with Elvis in the red modified Corvette racer.
Elkhart Lake photo, and the Steak and Shake picture.
Mike, Great photo of the “tattered” ’57 race corvette and the Steak & Shake photo!
