~ Zora Arkus-Duntov on the gas in the CERV II (Chevrolet Engineering Research Vehicle). The chassis of the CERV II consisted of a glued-together steel and aluminum monocoque with a steel sub frame to carry the suspension and engine. It was powered by a Hilborn fuel-injected, overhead cam, 377 cu. in. aluminum small block V8 with a 10.8 compression ratio and 500HP.
The engineering of the CERV II’s drive system and torque converter arrangement was handed over to GM’s engineering team and it turned out to be its most fascinating development. The result? An advanced all-wheel drive system using two torque converters. This marked the first time that anyone had designed a variable power delivery to each end of the car, which varied according to vehicle speed. The very wide wheels carried experimental low profile Firestone tires mounted on specifically constructed Kelsey-Hayes magnesium wheels. The ventilated disc brakes were mounted outboard, with the Girling calipers widened to accept the vented rotors. Remember, this was in late 1962.
The CERV II was very quick: 0-60 in 2.5 seconds with a top speed of 190+ mph. During its extensive development Jim Hall and Roger Penske were among the top drivers who wheeled the CERV II.
“To establish the sports car, you have to race it.”

~2026 Corvette ZR1X…tested at the track with epic results.
~Terry and Pam P. of Ankeny, Iowa split time with their Fort Myers, Florida home and last week we completed the paperwork/payment process via Fed ex and Plycar loaded up their “new to them”Red Mist 2024 Corvette Z06. Their “new” 3LZ coupe shipped/unloaded in 36 hours and here’s the note I received from them… “Absolutely love it.” The two tone Natural and Black 3LZ interior really pops with Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat!
~John A. of Centreville, Virginia bought his 2017 Grand Sport from me and today he traded it in with 49,600+ miles on the odometer for a Summit White 2025 Silverado ZR2 Crew Cab. John said he will return to Corvette ownership someday soon for a C8!
~Lisabeth B. of Clarksburg, Maryland has leased a new vehicle every 3 years from me for the last couple of decades. She calls me up and says “It’s time” I give her the numbers on the phone and she is in and out within the half hour. I pick the vehicle out as long as it’s similar in options. Color combo is never and issue. She arrives and the deal is loaded, car is washed and filled with gas and off she goes. Today she leased a Summit White 2026 Equinox LT AWD with Artemis Gray interior. Equipment: Midnight edition and Convenience pkg II, also has the all weather floor liner pkg.
Happy as a lark and back on the road and I was able to lower her payment by $65 per month!

Gold 1962 is awesome!
My favorite is the eye catching dark blue 73 Corvette.
I like the Jazzy Classic Red C1 showing off the wire mesh headlight covers sitting in front of the business jet.
I really like all the C1 / C2 Era cars on display throughout this group of pictures. It was a great time to be young & the owner / driver of a ’62 327ci F.I. Corvette. Wowzer what fun was had hot rodding in those days of yesteryears albeit dangerous as the suspension / braking just was not quite up to the power available in those days. My current ’24 E-Ray is by far the best of my 18 Corvettes to date. Currently waiting on a X allocation to continue my Corvettes for life adventures!!!!!
I like the side shot of the ’65 facing forward from the rear.
