[ACCIDENT] C4 Corvette Becomes Wedged Under an SUV During a Three-Car Crash in Utah

Sometimes you’re just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

That was the case for the driver of this red C4 Corvette, who became the innocent victim of a three car crash Monday morning in St. George, Utah.

According to St. George Police Officer Tiffany Mitchell, the chain reaction started when a Ford pickup heading north on Bluff Street entered the intersection just as a Subaru — already stopped in the middle while waiting to turn left onto 500 North — began its turn. The Subaru had the right of way, but the Ford continued through the red light and struck it.

The impact spun the Subaru straight into the Corvette, which had been sitting motionless on 500 North, simply waiting for a safe chance to turn left onto Bluff Street. The driver had no time to react before the Subaru was shoved into the Corvette’s front end.

The collision left the Corvette’s nose wedged beneath the Subaru. Both of those vehicles suffered heavy damage and had to be towed, while the Ford remained drivable.

Thankfully, no one was injured. The Ford’s driver was cited, and traffic in the area was blocked for about an hour.

Drivers in the area may want to use extra caution — a similar crash happened at the same intersection less than 20 hours earlier.

Mitchell said the solution is simple: obey the signals. “We all know what these traffic lights mean,” she told St. George News. “If the light is red, then just stop.”
