IndyCar Standout Scott McLaughlin Joining the DXDT Corvette Lineup for Daytona

DXDT Racing has added major star power to its 2026 Rolex 24 at Daytona lineup, announcing that NTT IndyCar Series standout Scott McLaughlin will pilot the team’s No. 36 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R in the twice around the clock classic.

The New Zealand native will make his second straight Rolex 24 appearance in a Corvette, joining new full season driver Mason Filippi and returning endurance specialists Charlie Eastwood and Salih Yoluc for the opening round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

McLaughlin had previously tested Team Penske’s Porsche 963 with hopes of competing in the GTP class at Daytona. Instead, he’ll take on the GTD field with DXDT, a move that reunites him with Chevrolet machinery after racing a Corvette in last year’s Florida Endurance Classic with Trackhouse by TF Sport.

He also arrives fresh off a podium finish in the revived Suzuka 1000km Intercontinental GT Challenge race last fall.

“It’s an honor to join DXDT Racing for Daytona,” McLaughlin said. “The Corvette Z06 GT3.R is an impressive machine, and working alongside Charlie, Salih, and Mason gives us a really strong package heading into one of the world’s most demanding races.”

Filippi, who made his WeatherTech Championship debut late last season in Gradient Racing’s Ford Mustang GT3, brings years of Michelin Pilot Challenge experience from his time in TCR competition with Bryan Herta Autosport. He’ll contest the full 2026 campaign with DXDT.

Filippi says he’s “thrilled” to be with DXDT for the Rolex 24. “There’s nothing in racing quite like this event, and the amount of preparation the team has put in for this race has been incredible to watch.”

He said he is grateful for the opportunity to compete with Hanley Motorsports and DXDT, calling the 24 “a true test of execution, discipline, and teamwork, and I’m looking forward to doing my part and competing against some of the strongest lineups in IMSA.”

Filippi’s co driver for the five sprint rounds has not yet been named.

Team owner David Askew emphasized that the 2026 lineup blends experience, stability, and top tier talent as DXDT enters its second season in the WeatherTech Championship after years competing in GT World Challenge America.

“Continuing with Charlie and Salih ensures valuable continuity, Mason solidifies the program for the full year and Scott adds world-class depth to the Daytona roster,” Askew said. “Collectively, the lineup reflects one of the strongest and most balanced combinations in DXDT Racing’s history.”

One name missing from the roster is Robert Wickens, who competed in last year’s sprint races and had expressed interest in a full season effort with the team. DXDT has not announced future plans regarding his involvement.
