The annual January auction frenzy is at our doorstep, and we continue to get a look at the incredible Corvettes that’ll be available next month. We’ve already taken a deep dive into the Mecum Kissimmee docket and now here’s a quick look at a couple of outstanding Jeff Hayes restomods crossing the block at no reserve in Arizona.
Jeff Hayes’ bespoke builds have been gaining momentum over the last several years. As his attention to detail gets noticed more and more, bids consistently tickle or surpass the $1 million dollar mark.
The dynamic duo up for bids at Barrett-Jackson are an interesting ying and yang. The white 1967 convertible is finished in a Ferrari white over blue interior while the 1963 coupe is finished in blue over a white(ish) interior.
Mechanically, though, both Sting Rays are remarkably similar. Both cars are powered by a 540hp LS3 backed to a 4L80 automatic transmission. They ride on Art Morrison Chassis, have Wilwood brakes on all 4 corners, side exhaust, and feature matching wheels and tires.
Barrett-Jackson’s Craig Jackson walks us around these 2 beauties in the video below. He briefly talks through the various build details and gives us a peek inside and under each hood. Hayes’ incredible attention to detail and build quality is obvious everywhere you look.

Out of my league but beautiful cars as always. These have the period looking steering wheel that I prefer over the gaudy heavy chrome center ones I’ve seen in the past.
There is no question that these are stunning restomod C2s. However, I just can’t get past those wheels and tires, which to me, from a straight side view, give the impression that they belong more on a stagecoach or bicycle than on a classic Corvette.
I agree. I dig everything but the wheels…way too big.
Really, $1 Million Dollars! Lots of labor and lots of bolt on parts but $1,000,000.00? Not my style and too much like 1 of 1 Chopper/Motorcycles that are now passé and collecting dust.
