Anyone who’s spent any amount of time around the Corvette hobby is likely familiar with the names Mike Yager and Mid America Motorworks. Mike Yager founded Mid America in 1974, and it quickly became one of the go-to vendors for Corvette parts and accessories. If you’re reading this, you’ve probably purchased a thing or two from them. We certainly have.

Over the years, Mike acquired a number of rare and unique Corvettes, artwork, engines, and more which eventually became the MY Garage Museum. Located at their site in Effingham, Illinois, the museum has attracted Corvette fans from far and wide to see what Mike has to share with the world.

Fast forward to 2025 and Mike Yager has elected to retire from his beloved business. He recently turned the CEO title over to his son, Michael, and has moved to Florida. As part of retirement, Mike is selling 8 cars, 12 engines and around 60 pieces of road art from the MY Garage Museum at Mecum Kissimmee 2025. The remaining 7,000 or so pieces will be sold online via Mecum On Time auctions.

The MY Garage Collection features almost 40 significant items from Mike’s many years of collecting. The diverse grouping includes various autographed items, signs, gas pumps, as well as a Corvette pinball machine.

Several engines and engine components are up for bids as well. The most unique item must just be the CERV-I Fuel injection unit. Some of the complete engines include a crated 1995 ZR1 Phase 5, three separate 1989 Corvette Challenge Series engines, a 1987 ZR1 Phase 1 prototype, as well as some others that have been converted into tables.

However, the most notable Corvette items up for sale are the cars themselves. Check out these highly desirable Corvettes:

Mike Yager is also a longtime VW enthusiast, and he has three special Volkswagens also offered at Mecum Kissimmee:

1963 Volkswagen Beetle 1963 Volkswagen Beetle
This VW Beetle was 1 of 6 actual cars featured in the Disney’s 2005 movie “Herbie Fully Loaded” starring Lindsey Lohan, Justin Long, and Mat Dillon. The car was built as a “Street Racer” configuration. Mike helped supply the parts for this car and it was acquired directly from Walt Disney Pictures.

In addition to the three Volkswagens, the Yager family is offering these two VW Beetle engine displays. The first is an early 1950’s 25-hp VW Cutaway Engine as well as a later 1950’s Volkswagen Beetle Cutaway Engine and Gearbox Display mounted on a custom VW stand.
