Not too long ago, it seemed that 1973 Corvettes were ignored by collectors. Not quite as powerful as the earlier chrome-bumper Stingrays, not nearly as potent and comfortable as later generations.
But, as they say, times have changed. In fact, a Bloomington Gold judge restored this ’73 convertible to NCRS and Bloomington Gold specifications about 15 years ago.
Sadly, however, here’s the honest truth: sometimes our bodies write checks our hearts don’t want to cash. The current owner, armed with documentation spanning from the original title through all three subsequent owners, has reached that bittersweet moment when climbing in and out becomes more challenge than joy. His loss could be your gain.
He’s offering his stunning Dark Blue (with tan top – a little puzzling since the Corvette Black Book says only black and white were offered that year) over Deluxe Medium Saddle leather beauty on Craigslist out of Lakeland, Florida for $47,500 or best offer.
This heavily optioned Corvette – including the more powerful L82 350 engine with four-speed manual transmission – features matching numbers and date codes, along with many NOS parts like the complete exhaust system, trim rings and centers, and various other parts that were used during the 2010 restoration. It’s been driven just 1,700 miles since and still earns a “9+ out of 10” rating by the owner.
“It runs, drives, sounds, feels, and even smells like it did in ’73,” he boasts.
Other features include power windows, power steering, power brakes, tilt-telescopic steering column, and Positraction, as well as an upgraded radio (though he still has the original unit).
Needing nothing but a new home, he says a lift is available for those who appreciate the value of a careful examination from every angle.
While the ask is $47,500, the owner says he’s open to offers, especially in a trade for a Tri-Five Chevy, ’64-’67 Chevelle, or ’61-’67 Impala – “up, down, or straight cash from serious buyers.” Considering the quality of the restoration and the fact that it would likely cost more than the asking price to replicate this car, that doesn’t seem like a bad price to us.

What a stunning automobile! Lots of foldin’ money, but this little cutie just might be close to worth it.
Beautiful car !!!!
It’s a beauty! I wouldn’t be crazy enough to even consider trading it for a Tri Five Chevy, 64-67 Chevelle or 61-67 Impala.
Beautiful car
Wow! A beautiful restoration that still looks fresh. Should be an easy sell.
