[VIDEO] Chevrolet Offers New Driver Maintenance Video for the C8 Corvette Academy Series

When the C8 Corvette first arrived in 2020, GM created a special library of YouTube videos called the C8 Corvette Academy which had a number of really good tutorials on how to operate and maintain your car. Now that the car has been out for six years, and with four total models currently being sold, Chevrolet recently updated several of these Corvette Academy videos including this one for owners who want to do maintenance on their own cars.

Over the course of the six years that the C8 Corvette has been on the market, a number of changes have occurred, especially around oil changes and transmission canister filter changes. As always, we recommend going with the service intervals that are listed in every Corvette Owner’s Manual, or check with your Chevrolet service department. It’s important to remember as well that if you decided to do your maintenance on your car, there are a couple that should be done at the dealership so that your warranty stays intact.

The really key points to remember about your transmission maintenance are:

Transmission Filter Change: It is recommended to change the transmission filter between 7,000 and 8,000 miles.
Transmission Fluid Change: This should be done every three years or at 45,000 miles from the vehicle’s build date.

This Corvette Academy Video also covers such things as DIY oil changes, as well as checking and refilling engine coolant and wiper fluid, and it shows how to do these maintenance items on both Coupes and Convertibles. I know that some of this may be old hat to many owners, but it’s always good to get a refresher.
