Chevrolet started the 2026 model year on July 30th and now nearly two months later, the first 2026 E-Rays, Z06s and ZR1s produced have finally been invoiced and will begin shipping to dealers.
That’s the word we got Saturday morning from a Chevrolet dealer and that means those 2026 Z06s and ZR1s leaving the factory have already been fitted with their spilled fuel diverter that is the remedy for the Stop Sale Order that was issued on August 21st.
Since the model year changeover at the end of July, the Stingray has been the top produced model with Roger Kiel’s C8 Production tracker showing a total of 3,115 Stingrays already built for 2026. The Chevrolet live inventory tracker shows there are 1,585 new 2026 Stingrays that are currently available at dealerships across the country.
In addition to those Stingrays, there have been 1,242 Z06s produced, followed by 189 E-Rays and 185 ZR1s. None of these models are showing up yet on the Chevrolet Live Inventory Tracker.
We assume that will probably change by Monday with the new 2026 inventory showing up on the Chevrolet Live Inventory tracker as those cars are loaded and shipped from the Bowling Green Assembly Plant.
We still don’t know why the E-Rays were held for so long, as they were not part of the Stop Sale Order or Recall over the same risk of fire that paused sale of the other two C8 widebodies. It would be interesting to know if Chevy intentionally kept the production levels down during these last two months, and we’ll see for ourselves if the daily production numbers begin creeping back up to the 15-25 unites per day which is where they were at the end of the 2025 model year.

In before armchair pundits come in here and say that the ER is a sales flop–rather than pointing to the problem that GM just isn’t producing them sufficiently.
