Well, well…Look what Chevrolet has planned for Corvette enthusiasts next week…the reveal of a new Corvette! It’s not every day hear about the reveal of a new Corvette, so this is some exciting news to come this Friday the 13th!
The teaser went up this morning on Corvette’s social media sites showing the Corvette crossed flags logo with the date 6.17.25 under it. The caption reads, The hype is real. The new #Corvette is coming.. Where it gets interesting is how the logo then changes to a stylish X logo.
Check it out here:
As for this reveal, we believe it has to be the All-Wheel Drive ZORA, or ZR1e as we found that Chevrolet was using ZR1e as the model name for the ZR1s equipped with the performance hybrid front electric motor in their order system. As we also talked about yesterday, no one liked seeing the “e” associated with the ZR1 as it causes confusion among those who will believe it’s a pure EV model and not a performance AWD model.
Chevrolet used the X before during its C6 Z06 days when it created a special one-off track Corvette for the SEMA show. It was 2010 and the Z06x was a track-ready concept with a stripped down 1LZ interior and full roll cage. The driver had a racing seat with safety harness while other changes included adjustable coil-over struts and stabilizer bars, racing wheels and more. However, it was just a concept and was never built as a production Corvette.
We like the “ZR1X” much better than the “ZR1e,” but we still don’t understand the rationale of NOT calling it the ZORA. GM has previously trademarked the name in various countries around the world, and it has the perfect “mascot” with it being the namesake of Zora Arkus-Duntov, Corvette’s first chief engineer.
So what do you think of the ZR1X, as we are assuming is what the ZORA model will eventually be called. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Let’s go! Agree… call it the ZORA!!!!
could it be that the zora will even be a ‘Badder Beast’ ?
GM should call it a ZR1e “ZORA”
Maybe the next announcement is the Grand Sport, with the Zora announcement later??
Maybe the next announcement is the Grand Sport, with the Zora announcement later??
Sure hope it’s not an electric crossover SUV like the Mustang. GM is smarter than that right?
“X” sure makes it sound like a crossover. Speaking of sound… I’m not sure what to make of the sound associated with instagram release… It does not sound like a Corvette
I like Zora best then ZR1X a distant second, don’t care for “e” really at all, although ERay works for that model.
It could be the Grand Sport reveal not the Zora as another commenter posted, I am betting on that, but would also be great if it’s the “Zora” model.
I’m excited, looks like we are finally gonna get some official lap times for the Nordschleife any day now as well.
What if the new model is the XR1 instead of ZR1X to avoid confusion?
Exciting times as a C8 Corvette owner and fan!
I believe it will be the Grand Sport followed in the fall with the Zora. BGA will basically end building stingrays in any volume. The base car will remain at $70k ish but the average selling price for the new “mainstream” corvette will be north of $125k

MSRP $250,000
That’s the new headline next week from Chevrolet!
I’ll buy a fleet of Stingrays before a new Zora. But this new Corvette Zora and ZR1 are still being serviced and repaired at Chevy dealers in the U.S.
This isn’t a new corvette, just another C8 variant.
Using the “X” makes my mind go to Musk, and THAT is a major turn-off, Just sayin’.
Isn’t that just the X platform logo (twitter)? My guess is that the announcement is on X.
In nature, some species live for millions of years while showing only small changes. And then all of a sudden, the species will develop into a bunch of bizarre and complex forms RIGHT BEFORE IT GOES EXTINCT. The geologic record proves it, and the phenomenon is called Genetic Senility.
Maybe the Corvette is entering into a phase of genetic senility, with all kinds of models just before the Corvette dies off. First, for many years only front engine-RWD, then mid-engine C8, then combo ICE plus Electric, and now hybrids, and suddenly “progress” to the All Electric C9 Corvette, where it will then go extinct.
Wake up GM. There’s plenty of resources to fuel ICE cars, and plenty of signs that the performance motoring public isn’t in love with fully electric cars; at least not on a scale to be economically sustainable. Do something cool and creative with the C9, but please don’t make it ALL-electric.
Is GM facing the condition of “Corporate Senility” with the Corvette?
Corvette ZRX.

I think it will be a much anticipated Grand Sport…
For all of us old school Corvette enthusiasts I wish this new Corvette would be an awesome all new front engine Corvette but in reality I know it will never happen.
THIS IS THE DAY OF MY BIRTHDAY 6/17 61
…it’s the Grand Sport
I suspect most Corvette shoppers, those who don’t hang out on social media, have no idea what Zora means. To those buyers it would just sound like a weird name. There’s an RPO code in GM’s system for an interior plaque: code ZRA. I think Zora will be a special launch edition package consisting of unique colors and badges.
What if it is a new Corvette! Maybe perhaps the Corvette SUV/Crossover X. Or does it sound like an all-electric with a speaker system to give it that almost engine like sound. Hopefully not the latter.
“X” could be a Z06 hybrid. The ZR1 hybrid “Zora” might be yet to come.
