The Autoline daily video has some next generation Corvette news that has us perking up, and for good reason. That news comes via AutoForecast Solutions which provides global automotive forecasting databases and business planning solutions for the automotive industry.

Previously they predicted the start of the C8 production and would have nailed it had it not been for the UAW strike in late 2019 that delayed C8 production until February 2020.

So what are they forecasting for the future of Corvette? Autoline Daily says they are calling for the “Next Generation” Corvette to go into production in June 2029 at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Kentucky. Where things get interesting is that AFS is saying that GM ‘s internal code for the platform is still called C8, which may mean a new highly modified version of the current platform.

Of course, Autoline Daily is wondering is it will look anything like that concept EV hypercar that was unveiled by GM’s UK Advanced Design Studio. GM has maintained that was a design study only and not slated for production, but many have praised the concept’s radical design, so who knows what the future holds.

What we are really excited to hear is that the car will be built in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and that would probably mean that this will be an ICE-powered sports car (internal combustion engine). AFS has also talked about Corvette-branded EVs, but every EV rumor has those vehicles built at GM’s Grand River Plant in Lansing, Michigan and not the Corvette’s home in Bowling Green which has been the exclusive Corvette production facility since 1981.

Previous forecasts of a Corvette-branded SUV from AutoForecast Solutions date back in 2022 in which they suggested would be coming in 2025, but two years later those predictions were updated to show an electric Stingray coming in 2029 while a Corvette SUV may arrive in 2030.

Like always, time will tell but this is a forecast that we can get behind!
