It’s been rumored for the last two years that a refresh was coming to the C8 Corvette’s interior, and we may finally have our first look in this latest batch of C8 spy photos from spy photographer Glenn Paulina.
Glenn caught up with two different Corvette engineering groups testing what appears to be the Z06/ZR1 and the ZORA prototypes. There was five ZORA prototypes spotted winter testing in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with the group consisting of all coupes with a variety of aerodynamic wings attached to them. The front radiators of all five were clearly visible in the photos and they show the unique vertically mounted radiator that was added for cooling the front electric motor.
At one point, our photographer says these prototypes blasted by them on a northern Michigan backroad and while there are many reflections on the window, it appears that these could be showing the rumored new 2026 interiors based on the different treatment of the dash which surrounds the C8 Corvette’s infotainment screen. However, it was a second sighting of engineers out testing what appears to be a mixed group of C8 Z06s and ZR1s that gives us an even better look at the refreshed interior. These cars were spied returning to GM’s Milford Proving Ground and our spy photographer managed to snag a few quick shots of the dash as they passed by. He tells us the following:
Once again, we could see much more of the infotainment screen. We could also see an entirely new dashboard arrangement, and a new interplay with the infotainment screen. Again, it looks clear that the exaggerated cockpit of the C8 is being toned-down for a less confined arrangement, for both the driver and passenger, alike.
Unfortunately, the spy photos only capture the upper portion of the dash which clearly shows differences to the current C8 Corvette, so we still have no idea as to where the HVAC control buttons currently mounted on the Great Wall have been relocated too.

I’ve always liked the Great Wall of Buttons, but the infotainment screen on the current model has always seemed out of place to me, not integrated enough into the rest of the dash. Maybe this new treatment will address that issue, at least based on these photos. Can’t wait to see what Chevy designers come up with.

Spy stuff is always cool because, well, it’s spy stuff.
But I always wonder when I see the ‘disguised’ Corvettes on public roads. I mean the ‘disguise is as effective at ‘disguising’ in other words hiding in plain sight as walking around with the Groucho big nose/glasses/eyebrows.

The infotainment screen needed to be better integrated into the C8 interior, and this would be a welcome change. The butt-crack down the dash top still baffles me. Seems like this would have been a prime opportunity to eliminate the crevices and frills on the dash top to avoid reflection/glare.
I’ll reserve final judgment until I see the finished product. But from what it looks like, this seems to be more incremental change rather than revolutionary change–which is disappointing.
Don’t know who’s car that is or if they thought that paint job was ‘cool’, but honestly, IT SUCKS !
WHAT FREAKIN’ IDIOT WOULD TAKE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL CAR AND MAKE IT SO BUTT-UGLY ? YUCK ! Anyone that stupid has got to be even uglier than that car ! That should be considered a criminal act, strongly akin to vandalism !
The C8 Stingray’s original design was busy but sleek enough to look good & turn heads. Every variation since has added so many scoops, air inlets/outlets & pointless styling modifications that it now looks overwrought & silly. Considering the substantial price increases on “upscale” models, my reaction is NO THANKS. It’s sad to see this car’s looks become such an ugly parody of itself. What a shame and what a waste.

Wow, great catch with these spy shots! The potential interior refresh on the 2026 Corvette is really intriguing. I’m particularly excited about the toned-down cockpit – the current C8 interior can feel a bit claustrophobic. Hopefully, this redesign brings a more open and modern feel without sacrificing the driver-focused experience.
The glimpses of the new dashboard arrangement and interplay with the infotainment screen have definitely piqued my interest. I’m dying to know where they’ve relocated the HVAC controls! And the ZORA prototypes with the vertically mounted radiators are really interesting, its great to see they haven’t been forgotten about with all the hype of the interior redesign. Can’t wait to see the full reveal and get all the details! Keep up the awesome work!
