With the 2025 ZR1 Configurator now online, each of us CorvetteBloggers will be sharing our dream builds. Our fourth build entry comes from our great friend Steve Garrett of the CORVETTE TODAY Podcast and his Blue Devil. Enjoy!
Like all of us, Steve jumped on the ZR1’s Build & Buy configurator almost immediately after it opened up and came up with this iconic build design. Steve tells us he was looking to build a more “traditional ZR1” that would be somewhat similar to the Blue Devil from the C6 days.
Steve’s build starts as a Black ZR1 Coupe with the 3LZ trim. Luckily for Steve, there is already a whole bunch of visible carbon fiber on the car, so he didn’t have to spend much there. He also leaves the split window in Carbon Fiber, not body color.
Steve tells us he loves the big wing, so he optioned for the $8,495 Carbon Fiber Aero Package, but not the ZTK package as he will not be tracking this ZR1. Other exterior options include the new Blue Forged Aluminum Wheels and the Blue Brake Calipers exclusive to the ZR1 model. Steve also adds the $1,295 Dual Edge Blue Racing Stripes which we think helps to add some additional color to the blacked-out look.
Knowing that most of the interior Carbon Fiber can be acquired aftermarket, his interior options are somewhat limited. Steve went with the Jet Black interior with sueded microfiber inserts and he also added the Blue Interior Stitching and Tension Blue Seat Belts. His final interior option was the Carbon Fiber and sueded microfiber-wrapped steering wheel.
Steve’s final options were the front lift for $2,595 and the $395 for the Black Exhaust Tips. When all the options and packages are added up, Steve’s Blue Devil has a final MSRP of $202,650.

This build is very reminiscent of the car they used at Barrett Jackson for the auction of the VIN 001 ZR1. That’s actually a good thing because that car looked great!
I love this!
Beautiful spec, Steve!
