[ACCIDENT] C8 Corvette on the Rocks in Israel

It was a dark and stormy night…well, maybe not so much at night, but it was still dark and stormy in Israel when the dashcam of a car appeared to capture the moment an Arctic White C8 Corvette Stingray left the roadway and ended up on some rocks lining the highway.

The two videos from the incident were shared to Facebook’s C8 Corvette Owners (and Friends) and it shows the roadway completely awash in water from a heavy rain. As the video starts, the Stingray appears on the left as its passing the camera car and you can see that it hits a large area of standing water. That huge splash and the water still on the ground most likely caused the Stingray to hydroplane and then cross over the lanes of traffic before coming to a rest on the side of the road.

While its not very clear, if you watch the video, you’ll see the Corvette slid off the road backwards and then the front up goes way up, exposing most of the underbody of the Corvette before crashing back down to Earth. “Whoa!” is the only word that comes from the driver of the camera car as the accident unfolded right in front of him.

The second video shows the aftermath of the accident with a nearly 360-degree walk-around of the car. Something tells me that it’s probably totaled based on how the wheel are askew under the car.

The Stingray Coupe was nicely optioned, with a Z51 spoiler on the rear, dual carbon flash racing stripe down the middle of the car, and the Carbon Flash wheels with the machined face and Edge Red brake calipers.

My only exit question is this: Would you have covered your license plates in shame if you had a similar accident in your Corvette?
