Interest in the new 2025 Corvette ZR1 is at an all time high as we get closer to the beginning of retail sales. Chevy has told dealers that the first allocations are expected in February and we think production could start as early as March 2025.
On Thursday, Chevrolet also came out with the performance specs of the new King of the Hill, and they confirmed it’s the quickest Corvette ever with a 0-60 MPH time of 2.3 seconds and the ability to run the quarter mile in 9.6 seconds at 150 MPH with the optional ZTK track package.
Talking with dealers, we know demand for the new American supercar will be high while the initial production levels will be very low to start with before ramping up towards the end of the model year. At least, that’s what we’ve seen with both the Z06 and E-Ray, so we expect Chevy to have the same level of due-diligence for rolling out the most powerful Corvette ever.
The good news is that we know of one Corvette that will be offered first to general public, and that is VIN 001. Chevrolet will be offering the first retail example of the 2025 Corvette ZR1 at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale on January 25, 2025. As the first retail C8 Z06 was sold for $3.6 million, some are estimating that the ZR1 could fetch $4 million or more!
Chevrolet offers these first retail versions for charity, and 100% of the proceeds of this first VIN 001 Corvette ZR1 will go to the American Red Cross:
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a not-for-profit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
As per usual, the Corvette ZR1 shown on the Barrett-Jackson auction block will be one of the show cars that has already been produced. The winner of the car will have the opportunity to spec it out however they want it. That means the buyer can choose between the Convertible model or go with the iconic Split Window Coupe, their choice of color, and they can also decide on whether or not to add the ZTK Performance Package as the cherry on top!
Barrett-Jackson is currently showing the Competition Yellow Corvette ZR1 Coupe on its pages, and while the car will be sold sometime on Saturday, January 25th, the exact schedule hasn’t yet been set, nor is there a lot number for the car.
While many of us will be watching to see if Mr. Hendrick adds to his collection of VIN 001 Corvettes, anything can happen if someone else wants it more. Stay tuned as January’s auction scene is gonna be lit!

Yeah, as if anybody else than Rick Hendrick will get it. This is more predictable than the sun rising in the east.

Last October I saw a new ZR1 identical to this one at Hendrick Motorsports and a guy told me the car belonged to Rick Hendrick. At the time I believed it but I now think I was told wrong. I agree with Boba Fett that it’s a given that Mr. H will get VIN 001.
I Hope Mr.H Wins it , Keep all the VIN #1’s in 1 Collection , Maybe Someday the Collection will Open to the Public to View.
We all know who will be buying it. Agree with Boba, just send it to him. No reason to even have people bid on it. However I live in Arizona and will be there to watch it when it sells.
What do you want to bet that Mr H’ as they call him will pay huge money for this. Must be nice.

The ZR1 seen at the Queen City Corvette show at Hendrick Motorsports in October was the promo car from Chevy. It was acquired by Hendrick Performance for our show. The Heritage Center Collection can be seen by anyone attending our show, which will be held October 18, 2025. Anyone can purchase tickets on the show date or on Friday as well. All proceeds go to the Hendrick Family Foundation. QCCC was proud to present the Hendrick organization over $17,000 from this year’s show.
