I can now officially talk the talk, because I have walked the walk by ordering my first new Corvette. Not that it ever stopped me before!
From event status code 1100 on July 25th to seeing the first pics of my completed 2025 Corvette E-Ray arriving at Mike Furman’s Criswell Chevrolet on October 29th, I can say that I have strapped on the New Balance tennis shoes and walked the same path as all those C8 Corvette buyers who came before me.
For those who may have called me in the past with concerns or other questions during their ordering phase and heard me say something like “Lighten up! It’s a Corvette and this should be fun,” I do apologize. I tried saying that to myself after missing out on two order cycles due to constraints, and no, it doesn’t make everything better.
Being on a Corvette list for years while waiting for an upcoming car is both a blessing and a curse. It’s a blessing because you had the foresight to see what was coming years before others and pluck down a deposit, but it’s a curse because that wait can sometimes take years to fulfill. It’s not just a wait, it’s like a prison sentence for your mind. For my E-Ray, I’m pretty sure I called Mike sometime in late 2019 or early 2020 and said I want to be on the list for the Hybrid Corvette with All Wheel Drive. He made it happen and now here we go!
Ordering a new C8 Corvette was something I never really longed for, but then I saw the first C8 Corvette Convertibles unveiled five years ago this month at the Kennedy Space Center and I was out of this world over it. Now, it’s finally here. The moment still doesn’t feel quite real yet, but I’m planning on making the most of it! I’ll be following up with a more extensive post detailing my ordering and delivery experience next week after the car is home. In the meantime, here are the first pics of my Hysteria HTC thanks to Mike Furman!

Congrats Keith! I love that colour combo. We saw the Hysteria at the NCM, but it lacked the duo-tone seats which are fab! And the HTC is THE one to choose!

Awesome, wish I could afford to do that. But I do have a beautiful 11′ C6 GS so I will get over it. Hopefully:)
