Round and round they go, where they stop, nobody knows.
After three years as manager of the General Motors Sports Car Racing Program, Laura Wontrop Klauser is headed to another assignment, this time on the production side.
It’s all part of a corporate strategy of using lessons learned on the race track to make production vehicles better.
After taking over for veteran manager Doug Fehan in 2021, Klauser was in charge of the Corvette GT3 and Cadillac Racing GTP programs.
She will now become Engineering Group Leader for the Global Hardware Systems and Integration Team, with the switch to be effective at the close of the racing season this weekend when two Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs will run in the World Endurance Championship’s 8 Hours of Bahrain.
Under Klauser’s leadership this season, Corvette Racing finished third in the GTD Pro standings, and Cadillac was second to Porsche in the GTP manufacturer standings.
Jessica Dane is the new Corvette Z06 GT3.R Program Manager for GM Motorsports
Taking over her racing duties next season will be two women, Keely Bosn and Jessica Dane.
Dane has been named Corvette Racing Program Manager for Corvette GT3 programs, shifting from her current role as Motorsports Integration Manager in GM Motorsports.
Bosn, meanwhile, will become Cadillac Racing Program Manager after currently serving as Future Tech & Mobility Planning Manager in the Competitor Intelligence, Technology and Mobility Planning organization at GM.
Also working with the two women will be Mark Stielow, Director Motorsport Competition Engineering.
In yet another change, Christie Bagne will move from her current role as Corvette Z06 GT3.R Program Manager over to Corporate Strategy as a senior analyst.

No more “It didn’t work out for us again today, but what we learned at the track will go into every street-bound Corvette!” spin from Laura?
What are we going to do now?
In all seriousness, we need a program manager who has no problem openly giving tough love remarks such as “We got our a$$es handed to us agaim today- this operation has perfected the art of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. We’ve come to do one thing- race against the world’s top OEMs every week and beat them…I’m putting this team on notice time now- improve before I personally shut you down” or fighting words to that effect.
We can dream, right?
Ugh. Another year of underachievement.
Got to love the fancy titles they give to these DEI candidates. Ask Rodger Penske or Rick Hendrick what kind of person they hire to manage their successful programs.
Disappointing. Who in the corporation thought this was a good idea? Why carry dead weight like this?
Everything at this level of racing is so competitive with the top half dozen or more cars finishing within a second or less of each other at the end of a 24-hour race, much less a 2-hour race, that if you consider being off a mere tenth of a second at one corner each lap you are doomed to “failure”. In those conditions, it seems to me Corvette and Cadillac Racing teams did really well this season!
At least a change is good!
Well, DXDT had 8 straight wins with the same PM built Corvette Z06 GT3.R, albeit a couple of chassis with later serial numbers than anyone else, and with Tommy as a driver.
The fact that Tommy’s sister is a manager of DXDT might have something to do with it I presume.
The bullet-proof PM we have come to know, respect and luv has a slight kink in their carbon fiber. Following Corvette Racing from the beginning, I can’t remember so many issue with so many different areas of the car … starter motors, alternators, transmissions, clutches, brakes … given the GT3.R is a ‘new’ car, but hey, it is the same basic platform as the GTLM, and IT IS PM BUILDING THEM, so we, the faithful, have a few questions moving forward. Klauser and Bagne had nothing to do with the Z06 GT3.R builds, and issues, those are PM and their suppliers issues. Fortunately we still have Mark Stielow around.
I like the idea of DXDT moving into GTD-Am for a 2 car effort.
And a question we all have is where is the Z06 GT3.R that the AWA partner owned who had a hissey fit and took his football and left the field?
I believe we can rest assured 2025 will be a better year for the 4 teams in 3 series racing 8 Z06 GT3.Rs!
