[SPIED] Watch the C8 Corvette ZORA Undergoing Performance Testing at the Nurburgring

Our friend Jeroen from the YouTube channel Carspotter Jeroen sent us a link this morning featuring some fresh new video of the C8 Corvette ZORA prototypes testing at the Nürburgring.

Jeroen staked out multiple locations around the 12.9 mile track to capture the new GODFATHER-spec C8 Corvettes, and in several cases, we also get to see what some of the other manufacturers are testing during this two-week industry pool session. Jeroen also captures the ZORA as it makes its way back and forth from the Chevy secret lair to the track.

We really have no idea of Chevy’s timeline for rolling out the ZORA, so let’s take a walk through the next two years. The ZR1 will most likely start production in the spring of 2025, but the way that Chevy rolls out new models these days will probably mean another drawn-out ramp up for the car. Unconstrained production of the ZR1 will most likely get into gear during the 2026 model year. We could see Chevy sticking to practice of delaying the start of the new model until the middle or so of the production year, so that limited ZORAs are first introduced later during the 2026 model year, but really get going in 2027.

That’s just me speculating though. Even though the Corvette ZORA is much different than the E-Ray, we would like to think that many of the big challenges the team faced early on when combining the E-Ray’s V8 power with an electric forward assist motor have already been ironed out, and now the team can focus on the nuances to make the ZORA much better.

Jeroen also tells us to stay tuned for another video coming from him featuring the ZR1 at the Nürburgring. He tells me in the email that “I also have a video of the ZR1 practicing for the lap record lap. That video will be online tomorrow. I will email you that one when I have it online.”
