Be careful the next time you rev up that loud engine in your Corvette.

It might lead to an attack if the wrong person hears it.

That’s allegedly what happened over last weekend in a 55+ community in Summerfield, Florida, according to a report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

An “existing feud” apparently existed between an unidentified 72-year-old Corvette driver and his neighbor in the Spruce Creek South community, 63-year-old Kenneth Michael Lewicki.

The Corvette driver admits that revving up his engine was “a sort-of brag” as he passed by the home of Lewicki on Sunday afternoon.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Lewicki didn’t like what he heard, apparently so much so that he drove to the Corvette driver’s home and confronted him, where he alleged knocked him over onto his motorcycle.

Reporting that he’s had “multiple surgeries” on his back, the victim was worried that the rods in his back had been shifted out of alignment by the impact so he was carried by ambulance to UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital in The Villages.

Lewicki told authorities that the Corvette owner had been “harassing” him and his wife, calling the revving of the car’s engine Sunday afternoon the last straw that led to the confrontation.

Charged with a felony count of battery, Lewicki was released from Marion County Jail after posting $2,500 bond.

  1. Isn’t Florida a Stand Your Ground state?
If a big ogre came to my house and pushed me to the ground, he might not be leaving on his feet.

  2. Read between the lines; the old guy has some money and a few toys, the big dude has nothing and he hates life in general. He needs to spend a year or so in jail.

  3. When I was in my 20’s I owned a nice 77 L-82 with ANSA straight mufflers. I had a mean older neighbor who lived on the corner down the street from me. One time that crazy nutcase followed me home and pulled in my driveway. He told me he was sick of me driving by his house at all hours in my damn Corvette with its loud mufflers. I told him to get the f*** out of my driveway and don’t ever come back before I call the law on him. He left and he called the cops on me. They came out and talked to both of us. He never bothered me again after that and I still drove by his house anytime I needed to.

  4. Maybe the HOA will vote in E-Vettes only. With the Villages having the highest VD rate in the nation maybe the aggressor has other things eating on his mind.

  5. We don’t know the history of this feud, but it must have some legs. An expensive temper tantrum that’s a lesson to us all. Do this and get a felony charge – riot, loot and burn for a misdemeanor.

  6. And now we know one of the reasons why Z06’s are popular; some people need to show off their peen via LOUD NOISES. Victim must be too poor to afford one, but still acts like he wants to be a Mustang owner.

Nobody is impressed by your corvette. Nobody’s impressions of you are improved because you rev your engine. At the same time, unless you’re a swing-shifter and work odd hours–whatever audible cacaphony happens outside between the hours of 8 am and 10 pm–is pretty much “grin and bear it”. Move elsewhere if you can’t stand the environment…or if you feel like being a disruption to an otherwise quiet area.

Septuagenarian peen-measurers can and should move to a ghetto if they feel the need to act like immature teenagers.

  7. Actually, neither one of these “gentlemen” lived in The Villages. The article states they were from Spruce Creek South which is a few miles north of TV.
