Now that the 2025 Corvette ZR1 was revealed just two weeks ago this Thursday, we’re finding that Corvette enthusiasts can’t get enough of this new American super car. But that’s what happens when the “Unthinkable” becomes reality. We seriously can’t wait to see the new C8 ZR1s in person in two weeks at Corvettes at Carlisle, and most likely again a week later at the NCM 30th Anniversary show at the end of August.
But for those who want to see more, we have our trusty spy photographer to thank for these new snaps of the 2025 Corvette ZR1 in both Coupe and Convertible forms. Like the Red Mist ZR1 Coupe that we saw new Executive Corvette Chief Engineer Tony Roma driving over the weekend, we have another Red Mist Coupe that was spied without its rear split window design treatment. The Red Mist Coupe is also wearing the camo-wrapped Z06-style rear wing which wasn’t on any of the five ZR1 show cars that have been identified so far.
For those interested in more of a pastel shade, we also get our first look at a ZR1 Convertible painted in Rapid Blue and highlighted with Black wheels and Yellow brake calipers.
The first thing we did when we downloaded these images was to check for the E-Ray-style vertical radiators on the front of these cars, but they both appear without it. There are no specific ZR1 badges either, but the cars do have their regular cross-flags and CORVETTE rear deck scripts in place.
It’s going to be interesting to compare the take rates with the ZR1 Convertible as compared to the Z06. With the C8 Z06s being ordered in slightly more Convertibles than Coupes, we predict that the ZR1’s new split window design may lure back some of those “got to see the engine” customers versus those that were seduced by the Hard Top Convertible model which opens and closes in just 16-seconds.
Check out these two prototype Corvette ZR1s which we think were captured outside the Milford Proving Ground:
