We are officially T-Minus eight days from the reveal of the 2025 Corvette ZR1 and we’ve spied another group of Chevy engineers driving the next great C8 model on the streets of Akron, Ohio!
A member of the MidEngineCorvetteForum alerted us to this latest sighting where we found a quick video and a few photos uploaded to Instagram by @c.brubaker3. The parking lot find includes several photos of these prototype Corvettes while the video captures three camouflaged C8 Coupes with the “Really High Wings” leaving the parking lot.
The video offers us the opportunity to hear some exhaust notes from the engine, but those cagey drivers once again move out slowly without giving away too many clues as to what engine we’ll see at the July 25th reveal. When the reveal comes, we’re expecting to see a Twin Turbo LT7 V8 with a flat-plane crank making somewhere in the neighborhood of 850 hp. We would be fine with that for sure!
As these prototypes were moving out, we strained to see if the extra vertical-mounted radiator cooler was visible on the driver’s front corner, but the video is very compressed and doesn’t offer those details. Therefore, we are unsure if we are looking at the ZR1 or if the engineering team is actually working the performance hybrid C8 Zora which were spied late last month in Detroit.
In addition to these three Coupes captured on the video, the pics appear to show another camouflaged C8 Convertible with no wing, and the Black Ferrari SF90 Stradale is peaking out from the left side. A Rapid Blue Coupe and a Torch Red Coupe are also seen in this photo:
As you can see from this next photo, those GM car covers are working overtime to cover those Coupes with the “Really High Wings.” To date, we have only seen these wings on the Coupes. While they may be hidden by other cars, we didn’t see any of these prototypes in this engineering test wearing the Z06-style high wing. There does appear to be a lone Convertible in the group, which is parked just in front of the Really High Wing Coupe in our top photo. Interesting, that car doesn’t have any camo covering its rear deck.
Chevrolet will be revealing the all new 2025 Corvette ZR1 next Thursday. Stay tuned for details on when and where you can watch it.

Like trying to hide a Plymouth Super Bird or Dodge Daytona.
If I had the money to waste, I’d put a camo wrap on my Stingray and drive it around to add to the “buzz” and start rumors that all that we know about the ZR1 is wrong…
Conti did that once…He wrapped his C8 and drove around Detroit.
