One of our favorite days of the year will be upon on this Friday! Drive Your Corvette To Work Day is an annual occasion first imagined by our friends at Mid America Motorworks and it’s been celebrated since 2001.
Every year on the Friday closest to June 30th – the official birthday of the Corvette – enthusiasts are urged to make their Corvettes their “commuter car” for the day. The goal is to have as many Corvettes out on the streets as possible, and many enthusiasts will hook up with other Corvette co-workers or friends to make the drive in or park together as well.
The first Drive Your Corvette to Work Day was celebrated in 2001 and we’ve made it a cornerstone event here at CorvetteBlogger to celebrate each year, despite the fact we work from home! If you’re retired or have the day off, don’t let that stop you. Take your Corvette to the store, the bank, or take a pleasure cruise!

i quit work in 1973, Southern Bell, so i could drive my corvette everyday ! 🙂 and today my truck is a beat up ol’2020 c8 w 52k on the clock, and ,,The clubs fit nicely in the trunk. It is the best of 13 corvettes I’ve owned..
National Drive Your Corvette to Work Day is a great excuse to get your Corvette out during the week for those that typically only take their car out for Saturday car shows and Sunday drives. I’m anxious to see how many enthusiasts take advantage of this special day.
I retired in 2006,if I drive my 70th Z51 HTC down to my American Legion on the river for a couple beers does it kind of count? I always tell my wife I’m going to the office for a while.
I want to drive my pristine C7 to work on Friday but they’re calling for a heat index of 99 and a chance of much needed afternoon showers in Charlotte, NC. Like a lot of Corvette owners I’ve never driven it in rain except for getting caught in it once. Instead I’ll just drive my weather beater C4 with it’s shitty AC and black interior and roast like a chicken as Charlotte burns.
Hummm, I have had 5 Corvettes and I can’t remember hearing anything about this special day…..Damn it! My beautiful 11′ GS 3LT manual dressed in Crystal Red Met is no garage Queen, I buy them to drive not look at. OK and to show off a little too:) Never have understood how anybody can spend big money on an awesome car and let it sit. UN-American I tell you.
