Amplify Orange and Accelerate Yellow are No Longer Available on 2024 Corvettes

The order books are opening today for those dealers who received allocations last week. The dealers we spoke with only got E-Rays last week, so we were very interested to hear if there were any constraints for those trying to order a car. Unfortunately, there’s two big ones and it could have ramifications for any remaining 2024 orders.

Those ordering an Amplify Orange or Accelerate Yellow E-Ray will have to select a different exterior color because those two are on constraint this week. And because these two colors are slated to be replaced in 2025 by Sebring Orange Metallic and Competition Yellow, this is probably the end of Amplify and Accelerate for the rest of the year.

Please note that this constraint is only for this order cycle and perhaps any future 2024 order cycles. If you have an existing order that was pulled earlier for production with either of these two colors, rest assured that they will be built.

This is an interesting development as we thought these two colors still had another 4-6 weeks left. That last update with the 2024 color build-out dates showed Amplify Orange last order date is 6/27 while Accelerate Yellow is 7/11. We had a dealer confirm these in GM’s Global Workbench and that’s what they showed. Will the other dates be moved up next?

2024 Corvette E-Ray in Accelerate Yellow

It could be that GM wants to get a jump on replacing those two colors with the new Orange and Yellow so they can spray some 2025 captured test fleet cars (CTFs). We’re hoping that all three new colors will be shown on any early 2025s as buyers really like (need?) to see the colors on the car before ordering. The reveal of the ZR1 sometime this summer may just offer the venue to do so.

Thanks to our friend Rick Conti as we also learned that another round of allocations for Stingray, Z06, and E-Ray were sent to dealers today. That’s a change from how they have been doing them, so we do have some additional constraints from Chevrolet to share:

Stay tuned as these color constraints are just the first of seven colors to go away after 2024. Will next week bring us two other colors to be discontinued?

That closes the book. GM could have had another $135,000 sale, but they deleted the color I wanted. For this price range, I might as well go with the 8 series and get it painted to suit from the factory.

It’s already a hard sell for GM when they aren’t offering features (even as options) that competition is offering. Initial quality and long-term reliability are always questionable (show me 1 GM product that doesn’t have rattles in 10 years). And the crossed-flags just aren’t as prestigious as a spinning propeller or a three-pointed-star. I was willing to try. GM just would rather continue pandering to the monochrome mafia; offer purples that lean too far blue or black; and offer yellows that lean too red. That’s not to mention the extremely paltry suede interior paneling; they’ve made C7’s with better suede interiors.

I tried, GM. I wasn’t even your target demographic; I was a new interested buyer and potentially a long-term customer. 5 model years in and you take the piss. I am livid enough that I won’t even consider a GM truck in the future when I need a replacement.
