Texas tuner Hennessey Performance offers upgrades on many different vehicles including trucks. One of those they have specialized in is their Mammoth Ram TRX which Alex from HPE says can put out 1,200 hp when running E85 gasoline. Hennessey always likes to show off these truck builds by racing it against a proper sports car and so when we saw they were breaking out their stock C8 Z06, we fired up some popcorn and pulled the chair up close to enjoy whatever was going to happen next.
And of course you know what’s going to happen. It’s a 1200 hp truck that has been somewhat lightweighted against the stock 2023 Corvette Z06 with 670 hp.
We expected the rear-wheel drive sports car to struggle for some grip while the truck rockets out in front, and from there the Mammoth’s superior horsepower will keep it in front of the Z06. That’s the way the 2nd race went down, but the first race was definitely much closer as the truck only got a little head start and it sure did look like the C8Z caught it at the very end.
Nothing here for the Corvette to hang its head over. And that truck IS a monster.

It is an upside down world we live in today…. I never imagined a damn truck , off the showroom floor , could jump a Corvette off the line and beat it thru the quarter….next guys will have babies…..naw lol
The RAM fanboys would kill to own a TRX like this one.
