How would you like to have a one-on-one lunch date with General Motors President Mark Reuss and go with him on a tour of the GM Global Tech Center in Michigan this summer?

If you wind up as the highest bidder during an upcoming Bring a Trailer auction, you could indeed be packing for a trip to Warren, Michigan next month to meet the longtime GM employee and Corvette enthusiast.

The auction kicked off on Wednesday and runs through Tuesday, April 9, with all the proceeds, including the BaT buyer’s fee, being donated to the non-profit Motorsports Hall of Fame of America, located in Daytona Beach, Florida.

“The Motorsports Hall of Fame of America is an important organization to me and enthusiasts everywhere,” Reuss said. “I’m honored to be a part of this event, and excited for the auction winner to experience our Employee Car Show, which is always a very special and enjoyable day at GM.”

Besides lunch and a tour of the recently renovated Global Tech Center on Wednesday, July 24, the winner and Reuss will also tour the annual Employee Car Show normally closed to the public and held around the scenic 23-acre lake on the Tech Center campus. This year’s show will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of select GM A-body cars like the Pontiac GTO, Chevelle SS, and Olds 442.

A big supporter of the MSHFA and a high-performance motorsports enthusiast, Reuss most recently inducted Zora Arkus-Duntov, the late “father” of the Corvette and Corvette racing, as a member of the organization’s Class of 2023.

After beginning his career at GM as a student intern in 1983, Reuss has climbed his way to the top of the car company, becoming president in 2019. During his tenure, he’s been a part of exciting projects like the mid-engine eighth-generation Corvette, along with Cadillac’s championship-winning IMSA GTP hybrids and the “Garage 56” NASCAR Chevrolet Camaro that was such a hit at the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The MSHFA is the only hall that honors all major American motorsports: cars, motorcycles, airplanes, off road and powerboats, with a mission to celebrate and instill the American motorsports values of leadership, creativity, originality, teamwork and spirit of competition. Founded by Larry G. Ciancio and led by first President Ronald A. Watson, it held its first induction in 1989. Watson spent the next 30 years tirelessly building it into the nation’s premier such hall until his passing in 2019. Originally based in Novi, Michigan, it relocated to Daytona Beach in 2016 and greets close to 150,000 guests a year in its museum. MSHFA is operated by the nonprofit Motorsports Museum and Hall of Fame of America Foundation, Inc.
