We may have a new winner for the title of “Ugliest Corvette Ever.”
This car started life as a beautiful Polo Green 1992 Corvette, but someone with an extra 1967 Volvo 1800 decided to have some fun and see what kind of monstrosity they could create by mating the two vehicles together.
Now a dealer named Motoexotica Classic Cars in St. Louis, Missouri is selling this “Frankenstein” creation on eBay, where believe it or not 12 bids have already been placed, with the highest being $5,100 so far as the auction will come to an end on Monday afternoon.
“This car is a Corvette that looks very much like a custom Volvo 1800,” the seller explains. “It is titled and licensed as a 1992 Corvette.”
You’d never know that from a quick glance, however, as most of the Corvette parts are hidden under the Volvo body, with the Chevy donating its 300-horsepower LT1 engine, four-speed automatic transmission, power rack-and-pinion steering, and four-wheel anti-lock power disc brakes.
The black leather interior is instantly recognizable as a Corvette and seems to be in decent enough condition, especially after covering some 183,678 miles over the past 32 years.
According to the seller, the “Volvette” uses Volvo front fenders, front bumper, grille, rear section of the side doors, rear quarter panel, and rear bumper, all widened 8 inches, while the lower body section and wheels are off the C4 Corvette, along with its removable roof panel. The parts were channeled and lowered over the Corvette frame.
Getting all this to fit properly must have been a real pain, but the end result was considered good enough to be featured in Volvo Club of America’s magazine back in 2008.

What a waste of time and money, probably wasted a nice Vette too. The original Vette would have looked better too.
This hideous looking thing is so bad that I don’t even know where to begin other than to say it is one ugly POS.
Wow…what a waste of money. How about the Volvo with a Corvette engine. This is an expensive non investment. For what was spent, you might have been able to have the Volvo and the Corvette.
