2024 Corvette Makes the Top 5 in KBB’s 2024 Best Resale Value Awards

Five years into the eighth generation, the Chevy Corvette continues to add hardware to its trophy case.

This time, the 2024 Corvette has just been selected to Kelley Blue Book’s list of the 10 Best Overall Resale Values of 2024.

The annual awards recognize the 10 individual vehicles projected to keep the highest percentage of their original manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) after five years.

“This list represents the best of the best,” KBB says, “and the threshold for this honor is high.”

According to KBB, these top 10 vehicles retain their value better than 95 percent of all other models. While the average vehicle will be worth only 42.4 percent of its original MSRP after 60 months, these top 10 are worth an average of about 59 percent.

Ironically, that’s exactly the value garnered by the Corvette, whose 59.9 percent ranks fifth on the Top 10.

Leading the way is the Ford Bronco at 66.7 percent, followed by No. 2 Toyota Tacoma at 62.6, No. 3 Mercedes-Benz G-Class at 61.2, No. 4 Toyota Tundra at 60.4, No. 6 Toyota GR Supra at 57.2, No. 7 Toyota Prius at 55.3, No. 8 Toyota 4Runner at 54.6, No. 9 Porsche 718 Cayman at 54.2, and No. 10 Ford Maverick at 54.0.

KBB points out that on a $35,000 vehicle, the extra retained value can be quite significant – about $6,000 over a five-year buy-own-sell ownership cycle. Based on that logic, on the $70,000 Corvette (and up), that would translate into an extra $12,000, making it easier to pay for that C9, huh?

As KBB explains, “Recouping more money when you sell a vehicle can mean a bigger down payment and lower monthly payments on your next one. Imagine having an extra $6,000 to put down on your next vehicle. That’s why choosing a car with good resale value can often save you more money in the long run than chasing big rebates and other incentives.”

That sounds like yet another good reason to share with your significant other when you just have to buy that new Corvette.
