It’s not every day you see firefighters using a couple of chain saws to cut a C3 Corvette out of a house!

But that’s what is happening on this video from WFMZ-TV News, which reports that a ’75-’77 Stingray crashed into the side of a home around 5:30 p.m. in eastern Berks County in Earl Township, Pennsylvania, located in the southeast corner of the state.

Fortunately, the driver and his passenger weren’t injured, and only “very minor” injuries were reported to the occupant of the house who was taken to a hospital “out of precaution,” according to Earl Township Fire Chief William Campfield.

The white Corvette was headed east in the 1000 block of Ironstone Drive when the 20-year-old driver apparently lost control rounding a corner, the fire chief said. Police believe Anders Miller of Boyertown hit the accelerator instead of the brakes when making the turn, losing control and running into the side of the house.

In the video, crews can be seen using a cable to pull the Corvette out of the wall, and “Boyertown (Area) Fire and Rescue is here to stabilize the house to make sure that it is safe for entry,” Campfield said.

He said a restoration company had already arrived on the scene “to help stabilize the house and begin to board it up for restoration and remediation.”

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash and say it’s “too soon” to determine if charges will be filed against the driver.

  1. You just have to wonder what his insurance agent had to say when he called and reported he had a claim. Wonder if it was Jake from State Farm?
