[VIDEO] C7 Corvette Z06 Driver Runs from Police with Speeds Topping 145 MPH

The driver of an Elkhart Lake Blue C7 Corvette Z06 led authorities on a daring chase overnight that reached speeds of more than 145 mph before the car disappeared behind a building and possibly pulled into an underground parking garage in downtown Los Angeles.

The pursuit began in Rancho Cucamonga just after 11 p.m. when authorities attempted a stop of the Corvette for a vehicle violation and driving without license plates. Just 15 minutes later, on a roughly 40-mile trip that should take much longer, the Corvette had wound its way to downtown Los Angeles.

You can watch about 20 minutes of the chase thanks to extensive news chopper coverage, which finally came to an end with the Corvette eventually managing to elude authorities that had been tracking it on the ground and in the air.

The Corvette got on and off the freeways multiple times, weaving its way through surface streets and even going the wrong way at one point and nearly clipping other cars in the process.

Finally, aerial surveillance was unable to locate the Z06 when it drove behind a tall building and didn’t appear on the other side.

Fortunately, despite the high-speed nature of the chase, it appears that the Corvette was able to dodge other traffic, and no one was apparently injured. That’s a miracle since traveling so fast on the surface streets could have led to deadly consequences not only for other drivers but also for pedestrians who might have been crossing the street.

With no license plates, we wonder how authorities will be able to locate the car, though the car will likely be damaged underneath after driving over gore points, which are triangular-shaped zones painted with several white lines.

  1. Well assuming 2 items stated are correct and accurate, being Elkhart Lake Blue it can only be a 2019 as that was the only year that particular blue was available on a C7. Then being a Z06, and a coupe. Narrows it way down.
    No plate. Stolen?

  2. If you’re going to run from the cops in a Z06, shame on you for only getting into the 140s. 😀
