[VIDEO] Arkansas State Police Chase Down Son Driving His Dad's Corvette

Check out this wild dash-cam video of a recent high-speed chase involving a young Corvette driver and the Arkansas State Police.

According to a post on Motorious, the suspect was borrowing his dad’s Corvette when he was pulled over by the state police on July 25.

Luring the officers out of their cars, he then takes off quickly in the Corvette attempting to evade the long arm of the law. Thus begins an approximate 10-minute chase in which the police camera records speeds as high as 131 mph.

Fortunately, no innocent bystanders were injured in the chase that took place first on an interstate and then on twisting two-lane roads, finally coming to an end when the young driver – obviously not as skilled as the police chasing after him – crashes the Corvette on the side of the road.

At that point, the officer quickly exits the police car and runs toward the suspect, telling him repeatedly as he approaches to “stay on the ground, don’t move and you won’t get shot and put your phone down!”

We weren’t able to find any more details about the age of the driver or the charges he’ll face, but it’s likely the last time he’ll be taking daddy’s Corvette for a spin, at least for the foreseeable future.

  1. Stupid…they had the license number. This is way too dangerous. Now they have a wreaked Corvette and could have had other victims as well.

  2. “This younger generation” said by every previous generation.
Since the guy didn’t kill someone or rob a bank, I think it was also reckless for the cops to be driving at though speeds. They had the cars license plate and description of the driver, they could of just went to the owners home and waited for him.

  3. 1st of all, I respect law enforcement but I have never met a highway patrol officer that was not an ahole. They all have a god complex. That Corvette was gone! Those hp cops were stupid to chase @ night on a 2 lane highway @ those speeds. Some one could have been killed! There is no way I would get in a ford suv or dodge charger & go 130 mph! Neither of those vehicles corners, handles or brakes worth a crap. I would go that fast in a Corvette, but not in a ford or a dodge. I have had my C7 Z51 @ high speeds & it handled like a dream. And of course the hp cop parked in the on coming lane of traffic instead of on the shoulder after catching up to the Vette. Stupid.

  4. Dave R,
Are you saying you have your car at those speeds on public roads?

I have met many cops that are not ahole’s. Even the ones that have pulled me over.

The parked cop was bloclking traffic to keep the public away from the criminal with the dangerous phone (LOL).

I will take the 5th on my highest speeds with my C8 off the track.

  5. So stupid – when he took off they had his license #, car description, etc., so why not just let the moron go – he would slow down after not seeing anyone behind him and cops up ahead could lay out the spike strips and that would be that – caught and maybe jailed (resisting arrest or fleeing?). But it is probably a lot of fun to run flat out with the lights and sirens blaring and expecting everyone to see you and get out of your way. Where I live, the chase would not have gone far – too much traffic.

  6. Cops chased because they knew he had money and if he was killed in the chase their names would be in the paper. God forbid they go downtown and bust the A Holes rideing dirt bikes and quads all over with no licence reggi or ins. Doing that they might actually get hurt.

  7. Quit going on about the cops!! The kid ran from them and they gave chase. Props to the cops and that kid needs 2 yrs in county for this. If we continue to let them off and not chase they will continue to get bolder.
