We’ve been aware of the Camaro’s pending end for some time, and now this photo from the Performance Build Center seems to make it all the more real.

Back on October 16, members of GM’s Performance Build Center inside the Corvette Assembly Plant gathered to take a photo with the final supercharged LT4 engine that will be installed into the last 2024 ZL1 Camaro.

Engine builder Billy Burke had the honor to assemble the final engine, and like the others before him, his name will go on the engine build plaque.

The LT4 was General Motors most powerful production engine ever when it was first introduced in the 2015 Corvette Z06. It would later be supplanted by the 755-hp LT5 that would power the one-year-only 2019 Corvette ZR1. In addition to its run in powering the C7 Corvette Z06, the 6.2L LT4 engine would go on to power the Cadillac CTS-V, Cadillac CT4 Blackwing, and the Cadillac Escalade-V, in addition to the aforementioned ZL1 Camaro.

While the LT4 may be done in Camaros, the motor continues to be built for the Cadillac Blackwing and of course LT4 crate engines are available for your next restomod build.
