The first all-wheel drive, electric hybrid Corvette will be offered in China as part of The Durant Guild, the premium import business established by General Motors a year ago.

The 2024 E-Ray will be among the lineup of premier GM vehicles offered by The Durant Guild, formed to pay homage to GM’s founder and automotive legend William C. Durant. Durant laid the foundation for what the luxury automobile industry has become, creating an innovation-driven mobility empire on the foundation of marques like Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC.

The Durant Guild plans to unveil its product lineup of halo vehicles at the upcoming 2023 China International Import Expo in Shanghai, which will provide a unique venue to take the market pulse and gather customer insights to drive GM’s sustained growth in the Chinese market, according to GM Executive Vice President and President of GM China Julian Blissett.

“The feedback we received at CIIE encouraged us to establish The Durant Guild to bring in a curated collection of iconic products to enable the diverse lifestyles our customers are pursuing,” Blissett said.

Ready to greet the Chinese market for the first time at this year’s sixth annual Expo – which will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai from Nov. 5-10 – will be the Corvette E-Ray and the all-new Chevy Silverado EV pickup truck, along with the GMC Hummer EV pickup, GMC Yukon, and Chevy Tahoe.

Also at the Expo, The Durant Guild plans to launch its marketing roadmap to satisfy the growing demand for distinctive vehicles in the Chinese market and believes the Expo will be an “invaluable platform” for GM to explore new business opportunities, identify untapped segments, and seek potential partners.

  1. HEY Team Corvette, Chevrolet and General Motors management – here’s a great idea:
Before you sell Corvettes to China, Japan, Europe, Australia, Saudi Arabia and all other foreign locations – why don’t you fix the current silly problems here in the U.S. and Canada with the severe failures of production, assembly, delivery and sales of all new Corvettes!
As reported earlier on Corvetteblogger, there are hundreds of Z06 models sitting out in the sun at Bowling Green Assembly waiting for carbon fiber parts and accessories due to a typical lack of competence from the suppliers hired by GM to provide their parts to Corvettes.
American and Canadian buyers of new Z06 Corvettes are waiting for months to get their new Corvette after paying for Museum Delivery with delays and now repairs on new Corvettes being done in Michigan. It will be same for new E-Ray buyers.
Just what the hell are you doing to ruin the past reputation of owning a great Corvette? When will it Stop?
If the American Corvette buyer can’t get what he (She) ordered and paid alot of cash, how is selling new Corvettes to China going to help out the screwed up assembly mess in Bowling Green?
Come on, get with some common sense and quit the crap with Corvettes. Or sell the Corvette Brand to another company.
    Thanks for listening.
    J.T.

  2. Be careful GM. China will take it apart and copy it like they do everything here in America. Of course it will be made with inferior parts, (junk). Like most things made over there. Stealing our intellectual property is the only way they know.
