Tuxedo Black was by far the least popular color for the 1967 Corvette, but seeing this stunning restomod in black with a red stinger hood makes us wonder why.
The high bid on this vintage Sting Ray – which has been updated with modern amenities by previous ownership – is currently sitting at $56,000 on Bring a Trailer, with four days left in the auction.
We love the chrome 18-inch American Racing wheels sitting inside 225/40 front and 245/45 rear Cooper tires, especially against the black paint accented by that red stinger.
The red accents continue with the interior, where what appear to be bolstered red C4 seats have been installed, along with a color-coordinated dash, door panels, and carpeting.
The most impressive update, however, may be sitting under the hood – a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine with a chrome intake manifold cover and Corvette-branded ignition coil covers, though some might wish for a manual transmission in place of the 6L80 six-speed automatic.
The mods came under prior ownership in 2021, and the seller bought the car this year.
Other features include power steering, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, Dakota Digital instruments, aftermarket digital stereo, power windows, wood-rimmed steering wheel, and aftermarket dual exhausts with Xlerator mufflers.
The listing includes more than 100 photos and three videos that do reveal a few flaws – like some paint blemishes, a scratched rear window, a non-functioning odometer, and a loosely fitting center speaker grille.

I really like the looks of it and I would have it even though it has some flaws.
