The 2023 Corvettes at Carlisle show was another record setting event. During the hot and steamy weekend it was announced that they’d achieved over 3,000 Corvette registrations for the first time ever. Now add to that the 2024 E-Ray’s, the for-sale cars, Chip’s Choice, autocross, and more and you’ve got one massive Corvette show.

We’ve already shown you the GM Engineers’ E-Ray presentation and celebrated Midyear Monday, but there’s so much more than that to talk about from Carlisle. On Saturday, many Corvettes gathered on the big hill to make the traditional Corvette American Flag display. This is always such a cool thing, and we hope it can become an annual Carlisle tradition.

Elsewhere, the NCRS Gallery celebrated the best of the best cars from their club while the rolling exhaust competition competitors echoed throughout the fairgrounds. We have to say that’s a neat event that’s grown on us over the years. It’s a nice change of pace from the parked cars we usually see at car shows.

Over in Building T, the Chip’s Choice display celebrated 100 years of the 24 hours of Lemans with a fantastic collection of Callaway, Cunningham, and other racers. This was our first time to see the infamous 1960 #1 Lemans car since the completion of its restoration. It just happened to be parked next to the racing-winning #3 car that we’ve known for many year now.

This year’s seminar selection included the 2024 Corvette Caravan, the Corvette Today podcast, 100 years of Lemans racing, and a Sigala Designs reveal among other great topics. The Corvette Mechanic, Paul Koerner did hid thing hosting several popular seminars throughout the weekend. When we walked by one of his seminars, the crowd was standing room only even flowing several people deep outside of Building R. The special remembrance ceremony for Reeves Callaway was a great addition to the 2023 agenda.

Over on the autocross track, racers competed for the best time around the challenging course located adjacent to the NCCC judge Corvette show. While all that was going on, eager owner wandered the swap meet and manufacturers midway looking for those special parts.

Finally, the show wrapped up with the annual downtown parade and street party on Saturday night. This is always such a great event. Not only do we get to see hundreds of Corvettes rumbling into downtown Carlisle, we love seeing all the local families that come out to watch. While wandering the streets, you’ll see many Corvette owners sharing their cars with the next generation. Hopefully one day, they’ll be driving in the downtown parade themselves.

As always, there’s not shortage of things to do at Corvettes at Carlisle. We wish we had the space to share everything here. No matter what you’re into what you’re looking for, you’ll likely find it there. But, most importantly, it’s the people that make this show what it is. It’s always at great laid back just to catch up with old friends and make new some new ones along the way. Now the countdown begins to 2024.

  1. I’m digging the Admiral Blue with Orange stripes C7 Grand Sport and the Black with White stripes 69 with side pipes.

  2. I like all of it, there’s almost too much to take in for a three day event. The venue is great, and it’s fun talking to other Vette owners as you walk through the static parking area. Wish I lived closer, I’d go every year.
